Harden Beck
A lovely sunny day after yesterday’s revert to rain, though there was a sharp frost first thing.
Pilates as usual with my friend and then the garden centre in the next village for lunch.
I resisted the lift home and walked back down to the village crossing Harden Beck which divides Harden from Wilsden at the Malt Shovel bridge. These old cottages overhang the beck a the back and the garden in the foreground can at times be inundated when the beck is in spate.
The beck, having travelled down the valley of Goit Stock, continues to Beckfoot bridge and very shortly afterwards joins the River Aire at Bingley.
Saw a small clump of three daffodils in flower, the first I’ve seen and sadly another squashed frog on our Close, no doubt on it’s way to a neighbour’s pond where I could hear the characteristic croaking of others gathering there.
All signs of Spring getting nearer by the day.
