Rainbow Street

We've had a day exploring Reykjavik. We had quite a big fall of snow this morning but since lunch time it's been a nice day with sunshine which felt quite warm at times. Today would have been the best day for travelling up to the west but the roads up there are still classified as 'very slippy' and there's a storm coming in tomorrow so we've decided to stay put in Reykjavik. We made contact with Trailfinders and the hotel up there has very kindly agreed to give us a partial refund. Enjoying our trip safely is a bigger concern than the cost so with regrets we feel happy to stay here. We'll do some trips and get around that way with professionals doing the driving.

We took a walk this morning to the sea front. It's quite slippy walking around and after a little while the snow fall made it feel quite unpleasant so we turned back. I'm not sure we're brave enough for Iceland! On the way back I saw a scene I've been seeing on a webcam so I stopped and took the photo of Tjornin, a lake in Reykjavik. You can see with the snow falling in the first extra.

The main blip is a small street leading up to Hallgrimskirkja. I believe it was painted for the Reykjavik Pride and to celebrate joy and diversity. The other extras are Hallgrimskirkja and the Sun Voyager. I was lucky to be able get a clear shot in the middle of the day. I've managed to successfully remove a few people from the photo.
