Drops of water

It has been sunny and cold today. On the early morning walk, I was attracted by the water droplets on a gate and even more pleased to find that the largest one had within the trees in the background.
Catching up on emails and other admin tasks this morning brought the bad news that an old friend and colleague has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She will have more tests next week to give a fuller diagnosis but it is a shock, especially since she is not feeling unwell in herself.
Gardening this afternoon, including going to collect some 'rich dark gold' in the form of very well rotted horse manure.
The news from Ukraine becomes more desperate by the day and the response of the government more pitiful, particularly towards refugees. My anger towards them increases each time I hear a minister claiming that they are 'leading the world' in some way and then say what they are preparing to do at some indeterminate time in the future.
