Spring corner
I'm quite pleased with this little corner which is indeed a conifer so has very bitter soil and little water. I put some spring bulbs in last year and they seem to have liked it as the clumps have grown this year. It's never going to be a big showy colourful area, but at least it will be pretty in Springtime.
I had a garden focused day today - which doesn't mean that I actually did anything in the garden - the weather wasn't really right for that. I'm definitely a fair weather gardener lol.
We went across to Dunfermline for a couple of things, there was a beautiful shining rainbow as we were leaving and driving North. We went up to Kinross for some lunch at Caulders Garden Centre there. It's always busy and the food is fresh and good. I picked up a replacement pair of gardening gloves when I was there. I'm hard on them, I seem to poke my fingers through the finger tips of them - I spend too much time scrabbling in the mud, clearly. Not at all lady like!
I dug out a whole lot of iris corms on Sunday when I was in the garden and they've been lying in a bucket. Today I got around to putting them on our local Facebook group and lots of people wanted some. I made 8 bags up and 4 went tonight, the rest are being picked up tomorrow. It's nice to share. Isobel will be happy - one lady gave me a box of mini Barbies in exchange!
Talking of which, the extra is the girls in their World Book Day outfits!
I Opened a Book
by Julia Donaldson
I opened a book and in I strode
Now nobody can find me.
I’ve left my chair, my house, my road,
My town and my world behind me.
I’m wearing the cloak, I’ve slipped on the ring,
I’ve swallowed the magic potion.
I’ve fought with a dragon, dined with a king
And dived in a bottomless ocean.
I opened a book and made some friends.
I shared their tears and laughter
And followed their road with its bumps and bends
To the happily ever after.
I finished my book and out I came.
The cloak can no longer hide me.
My chair and my house are just the same,
But I have a book inside me.

Thank you by the way for sharing my pleasure in yesterday's blip and for the hearts and stars much appreciated.
Stay safe folks, my heart weeps for the people of Ukraine.
