2022 Thursday — Cowboy Lunch

After my Laser appointment (#11) this morning, we had several places we wanted to stop before we headed back to the coast, but first on my agenda was getting something to eat.

I knew that Mr. Fun wanted to stop at the Staples Store, which is in the southeastern section of San Luis Obispo. I also knew that we would be passing the area of the train station which is where the Del Monte Cafe is located. We’ve see the cafe numerous times, but we’ve never stopped there to dine .

From the moment we entered the building we were sure this would be a good experience, and it was. The menu was full of options and each meal sounded delicious. The servers were friendly, and the place was full.

So we ordered a tuna salad sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich, one with a garden salad and one with french fries. We each had a half of each sandwich. So Mr. Fun ate both of his halves and I ate my half of the tuna sandwich and brought the chicken salad half sandwich home. Our meal was delicious.

While we were eating, a cowboy walked past our table and sat at the lunch counter to eat his meal. He looked so absolutely genuine that I wanted to check outside to see where he had hitched his horse.

After lunch we continued on completing the stops we wanted/needed to make and then got ourselves to Morro Bay where we had a 2:45 appointment for our pup Mitzi to get an injection. She is having 8 injections in 4 weeks to treat her shrinking trachea issue.

Once the vet visit concluded, we headed for the house. After a day of “going,” it was great to get home where we could do some “watching.” The ocean was beautiful.
