The Sundial is Fast
…at Kranichstein Hunting Lodge. When I took the photo at 10.03 a.m. CET, it should have shown 9.30 instead. Darmstadt is 23 minutes behind Görlitz, the German-Polish border town at 15 degrees east of Greenwich. And the time equation demands another 10 minutes’ deduction on 5 March. The mechanical clock in the gable isn’t working at all. — But does this matter in our time? I suggest to remember the old saying, „behave like the sundial, count the fair hours only.“ There’s a rhyme in the German version: „Mach‘ es wie die Sonnenuhr, / Zähl‘ die schönen Stunden nur!“ — A set of blips from a walk around Kranichstein pond as extras. Including “Cracked (III)”.
