Beach Huts
As expected, we woke up to rain, wind and a miserable day. After breakfast we drove to Wells-next-the-Sea, parked at the beach car park and walked through the pine forest. It was too windy and exposed on the beach but the forest provided some shelter so it was not a bad walk. We looped around and came back past the beach huts, where I took a photo of them from the back with the grasses blowing madly in the wind. We continued walking along the long path on the sea defences into the town where we had an excellent oat milk cappuccino and a slice of gf carrot cake - funny how you think that after a long walk one deserves a slice of cake! By the time we walked back to the car we were all a bit wet and bedraggled. The extra shows exactly what Xena thinks of walking in the wind and rain!
There is an excellent crab shack in Brancaster Staithe that closes for the winter, it only reopens on 1 April, but Gavin noticed that it was open today so we stopped off and he got a crab sandwich for lunch.
We spent the afternoon relaxing indoors, it is not a great day for being outside. Tomorrow the weather looks like it will be much better and thankfully also on Monday when I have my half day photography workshop (with a 5am start!).
Last night we watched The Father with the most excellent Sir Anthony Hopkins, who at age 84 won the best actor Oscar for this role. Olivia Coleman was as usual outstanding in her role, and while we enjoyed the film very much it was a depressing topic about dementia so tonight we will try to watch something a little more light hearted.
