Culzean

We woke to a beautiful day, although it was -1C it was sunny and boded well for the rest of the day.  We got on our way early to Maidens on the Ayrshire coast, and after a quick cuppa we walked into the Culzean estate and through the woods to the Castle.

After the second world war the estate gifted an apartment for his life in the castle to Dwight Eisenhower, in thanks for his leadership of the allied forces that conquered the Nazis.  He stayed there a few times,

The estate was busy with lots of families out walking and dog walkers too as we got near to the castle, and we stopped for a while just people watching before heading back.

The woods were full of snowdrops, and it was quite magical.  And as we passed the swan pond we saw they have erected a big monster in the water, which I have blipped.  Also saw some cormorants, and lots of smaller birds and water fowl.

Have added some extras, including one of Trump Turnberry, owned by The Donald from America, a rather striking ediface.  He has spent a bit of money on it over the years.  I wonder where he is now, and if he still has dreams of grandeur regarding political office?

My step count was 15,000 which I was well pleased with, just under seven lovely miles.
