Tromso
It’s been such a great day. We woke up to what they call ‘scenic cruising’ as we sailed along the Norwegian coastline.
Then we chose to join in with the ‘Blue Nose’ celebration for crossing the Arctic Circle - which involved jumping into an ice bath, having blue icing sugar paste smeared on your nose whilst downing a glass of Aquavit. It was really funny.
But once we were wet and cold, we thought we’d jump into the heated outdoor pool because it was snowing. There were half a dozen Americans doing the same thing and it was just very jolly.
Once we’d changed and warmed up, and because the scenery was so stunning, we walked around and around the boat (4 laps equals 1 mile so we walked a couple of miles) … and eventually, we docked in Tromso.
We’re here for a couple of days so today was just quick exploring. Neither of us have ever been this far North. It’s really beautiful.
