Reedbed

An afternoon trip to Leighton Moss on our way back home. The sun came out whilst we were there - we have been really lucky with the weather this weekend. The light was just wonderful.

This image is taken from the tower platform. We would not go there at a weekend - far too busy. But this afternoon it was very quiet, so J was comfortable.

Reedbeds are for me quite magical places, and I love the colours - so it cannot be a mono Monday. We watched the marsh harriers who were very active, clearly pairing up and getting ready for breeding. And J spotted an interesting structure with a camera attached to it, which is visible in this image. It looks as if the RSPB is trying to attract Ospreys to nest on the reserve. That would be interesting.
