Nasty start to the day

Happily eating an excellent breakfast at the Saracwen's Head, when I got a very unwelcome e-mail saying our booking for the weekend at Manor Farm had been cancelled bwecasue of the weather. Having been travelling for six days and covered over 600 miles, I was a little put out and expressed that view - politely I hasten to add - to the Landmark Trust. An hour later I got a return phnoe call saying it had been sorted. A big relief.
A stroll around some stately home and then a stop in the excellent Gunton Arms before headnig down to Diss. An excellent half timbered and thatched manor off the beaten track.
H&J beat us there by a few minutes and DS#2 and SJ arrived a fair bit later in time for H&J's signature dish of Confit de Canard. Much merriment had by all.
