WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

Hellebore…

…blooming at last at the mooring.
We came back to the house today as I had to pick up my prescription and also have my blood test tomorrow.
It was so bitterly cold this morning which always makes me irritable but I am not going to complain - there are people far worse off!

I’m glad that the government is putting more sanctions on Russia and gradually weaning our country off Russian gas and oil
They really need to sort the immigration rules and visas out though. Those poor folk getting to Calais only to be told they’d have to go to Paris!
I watched the address Zelenksy gave live to parliament. What a man - genuinely fighting for his people and their country.

I Will not Grumble!

Oh, it’s so icy cold out there
and that wind it cuts right through!
It made me irritable this morning
until I came in, to make a brew.

Then I switched on the news and
what I saw was really humbling,
all those people fleeing the war.
Why should I be grumbling?

I see them traipsing through the ruins
of their previously happy lives,
men on the platform waving off
their children and their wives.

I’ll make a concerted effort now
not to grumble about trivial things,
some have been left with nothing
and yet a sweet little girl sings.

Going to watch Our House now.
Goodnight Blippers ;-)X

Happy International Women’s Day!
