The Silverback’s New Guitar

The Silverback’s new guitar arrived. I’m letting him keep it in the studio, where I keep my favourite ball.

“It’s very Johnny Cash, man in black” sez I.
“Hang on, you’ve been diddled; it’s only got four strings!”
“It’s a bass” says he.

“You don’t play bass” sez I.
“I’m going to!” says he.

“Why?”
“The band wants to do some Willie Nelson” says he, “the bass player likes playing them on guitar, so we’re trading places for a bracket.

“Really?” Sez I, “Country?
Are you going to do any Dolly Parton?”

“Go to your box Enzo!”

( Later, on reflection, I realised mentioning Dolly may have been a bridge too far!)
