Rocky solitude
This is the view from Rocky Point to Skennars Head, a few km south of us. The headland is named after John Skennar, an early colonial settler who lived nearby. He was born in Sweden in 1819 and died locally in 1895. His obituary described him as ... a man of great energy and enterprise, sober and hardworking ... (who) unfortunately ... fell into the hands of financiers.
Today has been another unpleasantly hot and humid day. Fortunately, predicted severe thunderstorms have not arrived - not yet, anyway. The weather forecast for the next week is for showery conditions every day, but with cooler maximum temperatures around 25 degrees. Hooray!
I didn't set out today to take photos for this week's Wide Wednesday theme of solitude, but this is a wild and lonely place and I'll label it as such. It's taken in iPhone panorama mode. Thanks J for hosting.
