Grey Heron

The young one was not around first thing but when I went back to the loch later both the young one and the male flew over. Surprisingly the young one did not chase the male away this time so when she was distracted trying to get rid of a leaf whilst eating her fish I sneakily threw a piece to the male. I thought the male was just ignoring it but when the Young one next got distracted  the male stuck his head into the water and came up with the bit of fish. Unfortunately the young one spotted it before he had a chance to eat it and she started walking towards him. He immediately dropped the bit of fish and flew a few yards further up the loch. The young one picked up the bit of fish he had dropped, ate it and came back to me for the rest of it. When she was finished she flew back to a tree in the middle of the loch followed by the male. They then performed a short mating dance.
The extra is the male. Also a Mallard up a tree - something I have never seen before.
