Crocus

There's just the one of these rather nice, quite large stripy crocus in a flower bed at the back of the house.  There are a couple of large white ones also flowering - but none of them open very much due to lack of sun - they're not best sited, and if we were staying, I'd probably consider moving them.

This one was well open just briefly several days ago - it gets the morning sun (if there is any) for a short while, but I failed to take a photo at the time, and since then I haven't seen it open.  I keep thinking that I might catch it open again - but I'm also aware they don't live that long, and by tomorrow it could be past its best.  So you get a "half open" crocus today.

We had to go into Norwich today, and took the opportunity to dump donate a couple of bags of used contact lenses and their wrappers at Boots Opticians - they are able to recycle them.  We also dropped a couple of bags of stuff at a charity shop, and a couple of large bags of assorted non-recyclable rubbish at the Refuse and Recycling centre.

It was still bitterly cold, and our energy levels were not high, so we haven't really got much done around the house and garden today, but there's always tomorrow.  It looks as though completion is unlikely to be before the first week of April due to delays further down the chain - so that gives us a bit more time.
