Gracious Lady

O'Connors' Farm is a treasure trove for anyone one wanting to find something to blip.
I was visiting there today to help Dawn with her computing skills. We took a well earned break to wander around their extensive grounds and gardens.
The O'Connors have developed a series of inter-linking ponds in their gardens which are a haven for bird-life.
They have a pair of black swans which breed every year.....wait for little black swan cygnets for a blip next spring!
There are two pairs of white swans resident on the property. One particular male (cob) is absolutely enormous. In springtime when the new breeding season starts this big boy becomes very protective and can be very aggressive to the point of being dangerous. I will photograph him for Blipfoto in due course. He puffs himself out and looks even bigger than real life and he can move very fast over the water and on dry land.
However, today I captured this image of a gracious female swan (pen) who is the mate of the less aggressive cob.
The weather had clouded over which made for nice diffused lighting to show her up to the best advantage. I think she is a lovely bird. I look forward to photographing her and babies in the future.
