Cumbria

We made it to Brownber House which it turns out is in Cumbria, although it is in the Yorkshire Dales. The main blip is the view from the front of the house. I was pleased with the light.

We missed some excitement though. A fire engine had left just before we arrived. Yesterday the barn conversion next door caught fire. At one point there were seven fire appliances in attendance, It is still smouldering now (first extra). The couple who own it have been working on it for 5 years. Such a shame.

We had a tour of Brownber Hall next door, a much larger property owned by the daughter of the friends who own Brownber House. The second extra is a poem on a map, given to them by a grateful guest. At the bottom it says 'thank you for the bed and the amazing shower'.
