Riverside Homes & Gardens
Due to Spencer's fall on Wednesday, we took today off from skiing to give his knee a day to rest before we go out again with the other English assistants tomorrow. As an alternative, we invited Sophie to come for lunch (she works with me, so it's only a two minute walk to our apartment). Spencer and I got up and showered this morning and went for a nice walk in the sun to the market to pick things up for lunch. It's finally starting to be really warm; I didn't even have to wear a coat! I made open-faced lox sandwiches with fromage de chevre, huge cherry tomatoes quartered, sweet red onion, capers, and lemon on a beautiful loaf of pain de compagne. I served the sandwiches with a wedge of hand melon on the side, and Sophie brought homemade mousse au chocolat for dessert and black olive tapenade for apéro. Lunch in France is quite a production, needless to say.
