Another Collage - Day One in WV

Our first day back on the farm was very fulfilling. The sunrise brought a smile. We could not count all the birds at the feeders and shopping for worms on the lawn. Hubby helped our BIL right the blue spruce that had been pushed sidewise by heavy winds. Our elderly neighbor has run out of wood for heating her home. Our temps are plummeting and we are expecting snow tonight and tomorrow so she will definitely need more. My sister and BIL cut up downed trees before we arrived to start filling Edna’s wood shed. We went up on the ridge with the four-wheelers and collected several more loads. You can get an idea here how high some of their hills are. My BIL manned the chainsaw and we filled the vehicles. We all helped unload the wood and were definitely ready for lunch. It wasn’t until we’d finished my sister’s outstanding homemade Turkey vegetable soup that we realized today is a Lenten Friday - oh my. My sister wanted to tidy her front garden before the snow arrives. I was ready for a nap. The men took a 20 mile ride on their four wheelers; they may not get another chance this trip. Thanks again for you stars and sweet comments. Enjoy your weekend. We plan to snuggle down and watch the snow. If only those in Ukraine had that luxury. “What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?” - George Elio
