Day 2 - We Accepted the Challenge
As predicted, we awoke to a winter wonderland, between 6-8 inches of snow, at least. The wind kept blowing the dry snow all day. We snagged a few photos of the landscape and I was pleased to have one that was ok for my blip. We put our turkey in the oven and were ready to sit by the fireplace and read as we planned. Then we received a text from my daughter, “we all want to see some sledding photos”. Neither of the four of us runs from a challenge. We found tons of coveralls, insulated clothes, hats, gloves, etc. My BIL just happened to have sleds in the barn and the four-wheelers could get us to the top of the hill. Oh my, what a wonderful experience!! I cannot remember ever sledding before. The land is so flat where we live and I was very introverted as a kid. Our children and grands were shocked when we sent them the pictures. Kim said it was one of the best texts she’d ever gotten. And I could not resist sharing them all with you. Why hadn’t we pulled those sleds out in previous snows? It took both men to get me down and then back up; my knees are just worn out. We came back and made a complete “American Thanksgiving” dinner and sent some of everything to the neighbors-Edna’s son is too disabled to come here and she won’t leave him home alone. We even had pumpkin pie to share. As my sister says, the day was a ‘10’. We may even get a few minutes to sit by the fireplace. Wishing you a similar weekend. Praying for Ukraine.
