Here there and everywhere

End of Week 1

Phew! Got here. It's been a hard week and I've given 8 input sessions, observed 5 lesson, as well as all the behind the scenes admin things. Additional challenges were discovering on day 1 that one trainee has ADHD and then today on day 5 she said she's on the autism spectrum (apologies if my use of words isn't quite right). Neither of these, hopefully, will cause problems, but if she'd declared them we'd have had time to look into ways of supporting her. It's difficult now that the course has started. Another trainee fainted during the night when getting up to look after her little girl and had to go to the hospital and suffered concussion and got 3 stitches. She missed a 2hr live teaching observation, which needs to be made up. Somehow.  However, all 5 trainees taught 20 mins each this morning online on zoom teaching real adult students, and they all did well. Phew!, these lessons are unassessed but now a Cambridge requirement on online courses to let the trainees get a little practice on the online platform. My colleague and I had an end of week 1 round up and they all seem happy but tired.  Thank goodness this week is over! I've felt a bit stressed at times. It's the first time I've been Mct since 2019 and my first time leading the course online.

Indian for dinner. We both felt we deserved it!
