Not the best shot
As it was out the window and in the shade but I had to take a photo of this bird. First time seeing one in the yard. After the rain, I scraped all the wet seeds left on the platform feeder to the ground and apparently this Eastern Towhee ??? loved them.
The reason I saw him was the woodpecker in the oak on the dead limb. He was so gorgeous in the sun. He is in the extra.
There are many frozen flowers and plants in my yard in spite of the coverings that I did. The azaleas next to the house that were budding might make it, the others that were blooming are gone. A couple of the dahlias that were just coming up are really looking bad but I hope since they are so young they will keep sprouting leaves. The butterfly bush is really drooping as I did not cover it. Another cold night so I won't really be able to tell about some of the plants until it warms up and they do what the do (or don't). I also had wisteria starting to bloom that I did not even know about and happened to see it when I was taking a photo with the 300mm.
Tomorrow I am going a mini adventure with my friend Nell. She is 80 something and loves to travel but had a couple places in South Carolina that she had never visited. So we are going to go. At least it is warming up during the day!
Have a great week Blippers!
