Iris
We had heavy rain over night but not too bad. However, it was warmer when I got up than it is now. The wind is roaring with cold air. Old Man Winter getting his last hurrah!
This iris was only a bud yesterday but when I looked out I could see the wind had blown it over. I staked it up so it could dry out a little when the sun came out. It is the only iris I have right now. I am going to cut it to bring in the house instead of letting it freeze.
The wind has blown many flowers off the azaleas that were blooming. I am going out later to cover my bushes with sheets and my flower beds with tarps. It is supposed to be well below freezing. Hoping the wind will quit blowing. The seedlings I have started in pots will be in the mud room.
Hoping for the best for the farmers here. Peaches, strawberries, blueberries and other fruit and veggies are all flowering. Not only do the farmers have to deal with the cost of fuel and fertilizer they have the weather.
