2022 Sunday — And Then It was Gone

A careful look at this photo will reveal the final wink of the sun before it slips out of sight and makes its way to the other side of the world.

The best aspect of Daylight Savings Time — we were completely finished with our evening meal and not trying to get dinner prepared and watch the sunset; not trying to eat dinner and watch the sunset. That was nice.

All the rest of DST does not get accolades from me; it’s too dark in the morning and the dark of evening is entirely too brief and considerably less by June 20 (summer solstice). I am a night person and thoroughly enjoy dark evenings.

Tonight’s sunset does not even give a hint that we were shrouded in fog in Morro Bay this afternoon. When we left our house we could see the clouds colliding with the landscape of Morro Bay.

When we arrived at Bayshore Bluffs Park, we felt like we had entered a doorway to winter. I pulled on my hooded sweatshirt and my heavy winter coat over that. Even then I was cold as we walked the pups throughout the park.

As we strolled, we noticed every tree had been tagged with a round shiny metal circle and each tree now has its own number. We wondered what the purpose is, but we’ll probably never know.

After we got the pups back in the car, we decided to drive to Los Osos for a few grocery items we knew we could get there. Then we came back to Cayucos and discovered not even a hint of fog. The temperature, though, was chilly.

We barbecued dinner, watched the sunset, and agreed this had been a very good Sunday. It started with online church from Chino Hills Calvary Chapel with Pastor Jack Hibbs preaching.

Good night from
California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
