Another Place

Today, we drove to Crosby Beach, north of Liverpool, to see the ‘Another Place’ installation by Anthony Gormley. It comprises of 100 cast iron figures facing towards the sea. They are spread out along 3km of the foreshore and almost 1km out to sea. The figures are revealed or submerged, depending upon the tide.

The foreshore is very extensive when the tide is out and attractive to many sea birds and waders. The landscape is tremendous, with views over to the North Wales coastline to the west, Liverpool dock lands to the south, North Wirral coast to the south west and an enormous wind farm out in Liverpool Bay.
