Magnolia

There are two white magnolia trees in the garden in front of Pollok House and this is the first of hundreds of buds to open.
The flower was right on top of the tree so I had to sit on top of the parterre wall to get my photo.
It’s just a shame that the petals, like camellia petals, discolour quite quickly.

Poppy was quite keen to join me on the wall but that was certainly not an option so I tied her lead to a nearby bench and she was quite content to wait knowing that she would get a wee treat when I was done.
