Lesser Celendine

These pretty, star-shaped, flowers which are members of the buttercup family are one of the first wildflowers to bloom. They provide an early source of pollen and nectar for emerging bumblebees and small flies.

Badminton this morning and then on my home I paid a quick visit to Maxwell Park for some more leisurely exercise. The dry weather didn't last and this afternoon it was wet and decidedly chilly.
