Not holding my breath …

I was surprised today to notice this fritillary in bud and looking quite healthy.  I’ve had it for a few years, but never had much success - it always seems to attract some sort of pest.  Not sure if it’s snails, slugs or beetles, but I usually just find a chomped down bit of stalk. It’s looking much too good at the moment, probably a gourmet meal in waiting. I’m not feeling too optimistic, but you never know …
