Edge Of Ice

Further melting along the shore allowed the sun to penetrate below the ice sheet illuminating the light coloured mud amidst dark aquatic plants. All the broken reeds which had been trapped in the ice are now breaking free.

I thought the bluish tint to the ice would contrast with the warmth from below. The floating reeds make a diagonal through the image. I'm not sure if this is late winter now or early spring.
