Wraparound Squirrel

Our pair of grey squirrels are quite well mannered and don't seem to eat any of our plants but they are quite creative about reaching the bird feeders. They can't climb up the pole because it has a baffle on it and for a time, they couldn't jump from the trees because the burned branches were all removed. But they're baaaaack....they especially like the new bird food that contains no shells. Less mess for us but certainly a lot less trouble for them....

The tile guys were due at 8am and it was quite a scene as John and I both tried to take a shower in the guest bathroom, find our clothes randomly distributed between our closet and the guest bedroom, and put them on. The single glass panel designed to keep the water in the shower without completely enclosing it was pretty much a total failure, especially since I can barely reach the shower head to adjust it. No harm is done as the tub is surrounded by tile, but a mop wasn't part of the decor plan....I was putting my shoes on as David arrived. The tile guys never appeared.

I listened to the news on the radio today after I got back from Pilates. Zelensky addressed the Congress via video this morning and renewed his plea that Nato (or the US) declare a no fly zone over Ukraine. The US is doing a lot to help Ukraine and Zelensky received a standing ovation from Congress when he finished, but I think Biden is standing firm on not declaring a no fly zone. The problem is not so much declaring it as it is enforcing it. 

Several generals commented that up to now, the majority of the terrible damage being inflicted is coming, not from the sky but from ground based missiles. The US continues to send arms, including shoulder launched missiles and ammunition, as well as a billion dollars (to date) to Ukraine. 

I am a pacifist and don't think war is the answer to anything, but when crimes of aggression on this scale are being directed at innocent civilians, many of them children, I have to question my most deeply held feelings.
