Tangled Oak
Another day of sunshine got me out of the house today. Cindy and I went to look at a house in Fountaingrove that my brother was curious about. It was good to get out of the house but the house was disappointing, shoe-horned onto a small lot with no views and not a lot of light. It turns out that they haven't even been able to rent it since it was built in 2020 so it has just gone on the market at price that appears to be a bargain in the pictures, but there's a reason why nobody wanted to rent it.
On the drive there it looked like everyone had the same idea...get out of the house, take the dog for a walk and get caught up in the garden...all especially urgent as more rain is predicted for next week. They released water from Lake Sonoma reservoir to make room for more water, but where do all those thousands of cubic feet of water per minute go? It appears that some more long range water management plans are needed, but It doesn't seem like anybody can agree on anything anymore, so they just let it run into the ocean.
After quite a hiatus I'm getting back into the quilt business, this time to make a quilt for the new baby in the family. They have moved into the houseboat in Sausalito and apparently still have quite a bit of work to do on it. My hope is that they start putting railings around the outside deck ASAP!
The time has gone forward an hour into Daylight Savings time but it is still a little chilly to sit outside in the evenings. There seems to be is a definite preference toward eliminating the twice annual time changes, especially since they have tweaked it so many times that we only have four months on Standard Time. But again, nobody can even agree on whether we should be permanently on Daylight or Standard time. I have used that mystery term 'they' about two different entities but the fact is, I'm not sure who, if anyone, is in charge of anything anymore....
