Through the Peep Hole

I liked taking this picture because it consisted of me to walk up the 7 levels of the Linh Phuong pagoda - climbing up, the stairs got narrower and narrower and my confidence grew thinner and thinner. The structure was solid, but with every step the metallic staircase seemed to sway more towards the area where you put your weight. At the end the photo of the surroundings was enlightening and could breathe in the fresh air of achievement - the climb was worth it - like everything in Vietnam.

And the question asked quite often to me is: what is the difference between a temple and a pagoda?

Here an excellent answer:
In English, 'temple' is a more general term designating any building where people go to worship, while 'pagoda' more specifically refers to a Hindu or Buddhist temple. Vietnamese also uses two main words den and chua translated respectively as 'temple' and 'pagoda'. Chua refers to temples dedicated to the worship of Buddha. Chua are tended by resident monks (those shaven-headed, saffron-robed guys). On the other hand, den is temples where all other deities are worshiped. They are tended by ordinary men or women assigned to each temple.
