tales of the riverbank
One of the things that I'm still getting used to since we moved here two years ago, is that fact that although we live in a town, we're just a couple of minutes walk away from countryside.
This is the first time I've seen sheep in this field. They're usually a few miles further up the road. But it's not just woolly tails that have caught my interest down by the riverside.
One of the locals has just filmed an otter swimming along the river. Although the wildlife rangers who look after the Common have reported seeing otters in the past, no-one in the town seems to believe them and they've become a town myth. But now we've seen one, albeit on a phone video.
