Wild Daffodils
Most of the Daffodils found in parks and gardens or bought in florists have large flowers and are substantial plants. Every year they are grown by the million especially in Cornwall for sale in florists and supermarkets.
Wild Daffodils are smaller but still beautiful flowers which have a longer history than the horticultural varieties. They can be found mainly in ancient woodlands scattered across England and especially in Wales. They grow well in Cumbria and of course these are the Daffodils which Wordsworth would have seen.
Last year I blipped displays in the coastal woodlands near Arnside.
This year we went to see the ones in Brigsteer Woods south west of Kendal.
