Boot campers

“Why are these folk here at dawn every day? asks I, “did they need to come down to pee?”
“They’re boot-camping” replied the Silverback.

“Where’s their tents?” sez I. “Don’t they realise camping isn’t allowed on the dog beach? The Ranger will put them in the pound” I added. “For that matter, how come no one is wearing boots?” I was in full-on investigative, canine photojournalist mode!

“Boot camp is a trendy name for exercise classes” came the response.
“Why can’t they just run around the block like other folk?”
“Some folk need others
for motivation.”

“ That’s why you lot need dogs!” sez I.
