Old Glasgow
I had to visit the optician’s in town today and passed this building on my way back to the car park. I also pass it nearly every Sunday and have always been puzzled about the two corner blocked off windows which look as if they should be doors. So I looked it up today. It was originally the Commercial Hotel, C listed, architect unknown, built around 1830 and the ground floor frontage was an Edwardian pub. I guess that’s why there were two entrances now blocked up after many incarnations as shop fronts
