‘Early Morning Fun’

Up early again this morning to volunteer at Inverleith Junior parkrun. It’s the children’s version of parkrun - and it’s always great fun, both for the children and the around 20 adults who volunteer each week! 

Over 40 young people - aged between 4 and 14 - ran the 2 kilometre course up and down the four paths radiating from the centre of Inverleith Park. My job was to shout congratulations to participants and guide them into the finish funnel at the end. Times ranged from a very speedy six and a half minutes, to over twenty.

The smiling faces and sheer joy and enthusiasm stay with you for the rest of the day!
