Magnolia stellata

Today's the day ....................... to make a record

This was the first day of the year that there were open flowers on the Magnolia stellata - and it all happened so quickly.

All you need is a couple of days of warm sunshine and those white blossoms just can't stop themselves from bursting forth.  They were a little later last year but just as beautiful.  There were also quite a few butterflies out and about, like the tortoiseshell in extras.  And I saw my first peacock butterfly too.

Such a glorious time of the year .....................
