Cormorant

Today's the day ...................... to stand and stare

I spent ages in the back garden, watching this cormorant sitting on rocks in the middle of the River Dee, way far down below me.

There were actually two of them - a pair presumably - but while this one just sat in the sun and looked around occasionally, the other one was busy swimming and diving in the river itself.  The tide was on its way out, so more and more rocks were appearing.

Not that this one had any intention of doing anything energetic.  There was all the time in the world to stand and stare .....................
