Across the Reeds

A morning walk along part of the River Kent. It’s a fascinating route. The Kent’s source is above Kentmere, fed from the Cumbrian hills, and the biggest town en route to the sea is Kendal. The extra is a typical view.

The afternoon walk involved Coldwell meadow, then a walk through woodland to pastures overlooking an area of reedbeds. The distant ruin is Arnside Tower, the ancient pele tower, and extra to yesterday’s blip. Above the reeds a flock of about 30 sand martins were hawking insects. And we heard a “booming” bittern. Spring has definitely arrived.,

Shooting into the sun creates an atmospheric image I think.
