St. Cuthbert’s Way Day 4

Walked much further than planned today, conned my sister (and myself!) into thinking we could walk to our accommodation without too many more miles. Anyway, makes for a short last day! Highlight was spotting a red squirrel, only one sadly and too fast to photo. We got stuck in a forest - tree damage extensive from the storms in this area - rerouted and helped by the OS map got back on track. Photo is of St. Cuthbert’s cave where monks kept his body for a few days whilst hiding from vikings and before carrying it around the north of England for 10 years. Ever practical, my sister was concerned about what it must have smelt like!
