Standing Tall (No Longer)

Another working day in the office.  I was out early and did see some mist on the way in.  I stopped at the Avenue at Chillington in the hope of mist amongst the trees but it had cleared before I got there.  

What I did find was sad to see.  These two trees have stood proud on one of the paths for many years.  They remind me of a gateway with twin pillars and I can imagine many children playing around them.  Evidently the recent storms have wrought a heavy toll on the one tree and everything above 10 ft has been ripped off and now lies on the ground along side.
