Derelict door
This morning we wandered around the buildings of the University of Salamanca, including the Casa de las Conchas or House of Shells. The main building has an elaborately carved facade. It has one special detail, the spotting of which, legend says, leads to good fortune: a tiny frog, perched on a skull, in the upper part of this picture. I don't think the good luck flows if one has a clue of where to look, gleaned from a guidebook.
Inside the building are some well-preserved lecture rooms, well-equipped with screens for showing medieval PowerPoint presentations, I assume. The Senate Chamber was beautifully decorated but would have been a daunting place to have ones behaviour assessed.
