Turning the world upside-down
We thoroughly enjoyed Jersey Boys last night. Neither of us are really into musicals but we both like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons music so thought it worth a chance, and it was great. It was good that it wasn't just a series of songs but had a story running through it about the formation and history of the band (who knew Joe Pesci had a fundamental role in the early days?).
After breakfast at a nearby trendy bakery we walked over to Lincolns Inn Fields to visit Sir John Soane's Museum. A fascinating place; he was an architect and a collector of antiquities and art who died in 1837. He left his house to be a museum with the stipulation that nothing was to be changed after his death so there is little signage or barriers; it is like walking into a time capsule. On the way we passed this upside-down globe; I'm sure there must be a story to it but I didn't notice any explanation nearby.
I've added an extra of one of the reception rooms in the museum, and also one of the 'Eye' showing what a glorious sunny day it was.
