In the Web

A Garden Orb Weaving Spider lives alongside the deck of the bed and breakfast cottage we are staying in, north of Brisbane. Each night it weaves an elaborate web, sits in the centre devouring whatever insects are caught, and then dismantles the web before dawn. It's intelligent enough to sense that our house lights attract lots of night-flying insects. This webpage from the Australian  Museum has details.
