Over Long Nanny
A lazy Sunday morning, then a beach walk on Beadnell Bay. We did the first part of the walk from Newton Steads a couple of weeks ago, but this time continued on the Coastal Path to Beadnell and strolled round the harbour before walking back along the beach. We considered wading across Long Nanny ( a stream running in to the sea) on the way back, but in the end decided that it was too deep and fast flowing, and went across the bridge instead.
It's our wedding anniversary, and though we don't make a big thing of it, a meal at the Royal Oak in Alnwick seemed a suitable celebration. But the restaurant was crowded - we'd forgotten the Mother's Day factor - and given that Covid is rife at present, we decided against going in. By then, neither of us had energy or inclination to cook, so it was fish & chips from the chip van 'food court' in Wooler. Very good they were too.
Home to a beautifully scented flat, largely due to the amazing huge bouquet that arrived from Lucy this morning!
