Potatoes and onions
Things are speeding up on the plot - everything's growing well and I have tadpoles already!
I finally got round to planting all my early seed potatoes (with a few extra Charlottes thrown in, courtesy of generous allotment neighbours).
The maincrops will wait another week or so. This year, I decided to label the rows as I'm forever forgetting what's where by the time the tatties are ready for harvesting!
I also finally planted out my 50 tiny onion seedlings. I had more than I thought. Every spring, when I do that finicky job (which feels like planting a million hair strands...), I tell myself I should do onion sets but I love sowing onion seeds, plus it gives me more choice. This is a mix of 4 onions - white, yellow, pink and red - and I can't wait to see how they do.
There's still space in the bed for fast-growing 'Lisbon White' onions.
