Lavada walk

We did a 12km lavada walk today.

Most of the time the walk is like the extra photo, but at one stage it passes under a waterfall…

Yes! That’s me under the waterfall in the main photo!

Lavadas carry water all the way across Madeira in mini canals about half a metre across ( see extra )…there are paths by the side of lavadas, so it makes for easy walking routes.

Back to our hotel now…10 lengths in the pool…then a hot shower…then a complimentary glass of Madeira fortified wine…splendid 4 course dinner to follow!
