The Full Monty

Now the large Magnolia trees are at their best. There are quite a number in the village and they are looking magnificent. Unfortunately we do not have a blue sky for background.

Each year when I see these I am amazed how, just by drawing water up from the ground, the tree can cover its leafless branches with several hundred of these large flowers. It is a magical transformation but it is not surprising that it lasts for a relatively short time.
